I
John 4:6
The apostle John writing (God speaking via scripture...The Word),
being a verse (from a letter around the church at Ephesus) suggesting that the Elect eventually
"listen".
Wycliffe Bible of
1384: 6We ben of God; he that knowith God, herith
vs; he that is not of God, herith not vs. In this thing we knowen the spirit of treuthe, and the
spirit of errour.
King James Bible of
1611: 6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth
us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of
error.
NAS Bible of
1960: 6We are from God; he who knows God listens
to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the
spirit of error.
NIV Bible
1973-78: 6We are from God, and whoever knows God
listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the
Spirit [1] of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
