Romans 6:3-5
The apostle Paul writing (God speaking via scripture...The Word),
reminding the believers at the church in Rome of the fact that believers have died to sin & to
continue sinning does
not increase grace & some about baptism.
King James version (KJV): Know ye not, that so many
of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of
his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
New American Standard version (NASB):
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been
baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we have
been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through
the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have
become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of
His resurrection,
New International version (NIV-IBS): Or don't you
know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were
therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from
the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will
certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
