The case of the disappearing cancer:

My fellow church member and friend, Margaret Pratt, told me the story personally known to her of Eva Threatt of Greenville, S.C. At age 50, Mrs. T was hospitalized for abdominal pain. At exploratory surgery, her abdomen was so filled with tumor that the surgeons could only partially close it with "stay sutures". Biopsies proved the diagnosis. Mrs. T. had to be sent home to recover with home nursing and frequently changed wet dressings...probably to die. But Mrs. T. did a dramatic thing, and only this much is known: she prayed, "Lord God, I confess that I lived the first 50 years of my life under the control of Satan. If you will let me live, I will spend the rest of it in service to you." In 6 weeks, surgeons prepared to close the defect and peeked inside to check the tumor...it appeared to be gone. For the next 30 years, Mrs. T. did exactly what she promised. In later years, she also requested in prayer that she be allowed to die peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep....and that prayer was so granted in about 1987.
