Joni Eareckson Tada:
Almost every radio-listening Christian has heard of Joni Eareckson Tada; she was born in about 1952. Since a tragic shallow-water dive into the Chesapeake Bay left her a quadriplegic at the age of 17, this attractive young woman has caught the world's attention as an author, singer, painter, and spokesperson for the disabled. After hearing her messages [Amsterdam Evangelism Conf. 2000] on "Incarnate Pain," "Incarnate Joy," and "Christ in You: The Hope of Glory," the verdict was unanimous. "It was just what I needed!" "The Lord really ministered through Joni. I think it helped a lot of people deal with things in the past. "We all needed to be reminded that broken necks - or broken hearts - leads us closer to knowing the Lord of Suffering." At an April 2002 meeting for a speech on the topic by President George W. Bush, she also stood with others publicly against human cloning and embryonic stem cell research. See other faith & health information [here].
