Her Life Before Jesus Came In:

She grew up in a religious family and won her doctorate in pastoral counseling.

Her Life Since Jesus Came In:

She married Don Heche who lead a secret double life as a homosexual, dying of AIDS in 1983. It is said that Don abused daughter Anne. She suffered the death of several of her children. Daughter Anne had the high profile relationship with Ellen DeGeneres; it broke up. Anne married and has a child. Nancy credits being able to not only live through all of this but to grow to her often-faltering faith in God. I saw a brief interview with her on The O'Reilly Factor on 8 September 2006.
